Terms & Cancellation Policy

By booking a service with Howdy Pawtner you agree to the terms below. If you have any questions, just text or call Myleen at (519) 555-0137.

1. Services

Howdy Pawtner provides mobile dog grooming services in Cambridge and the surrounding Waterloo Region. Services are performed by Myleen at your home address. All services are subject to availability and confirmation by Myleen after you submit a booking request.

A booking request is not a confirmed appointment until Myleen confirms it by text, call, or email. We will confirm within 4 business hours of your request during operating hours (Tuesday to Friday 9:00–18:00, Saturday 9:00–16:00).

2. Pricing and estimates

All prices shown are estimates in Canadian dollars (CAD) plus applicable HST. The final price may differ from the estimate if:

  • Your dog's coat condition is significantly different than described at booking (e.g., unexpected matting).
  • Additional time is required due to dog behaviour or health factors.
  • A travel fee applies because your address is outside Cambridge.

Myleen will communicate any price adjustment before proceeding whenever possible. You are never obligated to accept a higher price. We can stop and reschedule if needed.

3. Cancellation and rescheduling

We understand that life happens. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair to both parties.

  • Cancel or reschedule with 24+ hours' notice: No charge. We'll reschedule at no cost.
  • Cancel with less than 24 hours' notice: A cancellation fee of up to 50% of the estimated service price may apply. We will waive this for genuine emergencies, so please just let us know.
  • No-show (groomer arrives, client not home): Full service fee applies to cover travel and time.
  • If Myleen cancels: No charge to you and we will reschedule at your earliest convenience. We may offer a discount on your next visit for any inconvenience.

4. Deposits

An optional $20 CAD deposit may be taken at the time of booking to hold your appointment slot. The deposit is deducted from your final bill. Deposits are refunded in full if you cancel with more than 24 hours' notice. Deposits are non-refundable for cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice or no-shows.

5. Your dog's health and safety

By booking, you confirm that your dog:

  • Is up to date on core vaccinations (or you have a written exemption from your vet).
  • Is not currently showing signs of contagious illness.
  • Has no known serious aggression issues that have not been disclosed to us in advance.

Howdy Pawtner reserves the right to stop a grooming session if a dog appears to be in distress, exhibits unexpected aggression, or requires veterinary attention. You will be charged for work completed up to that point.

We practice fear-free, low-stress handling. We will never use muzzles without consent, and we will always communicate with you if we need to stop or adjust the session.

6. Matting and coat conditions

Severely matted coats may require a de-matting fee or, in cases where de-matting would cause undue stress or pain, a humane shave-down. This will be discussed with you before proceeding. Howdy Pawtner follows the principle of "humanity before vanity" and will not de-mat a dog to the point of pain just to preserve coat length.

7. Accidents and liability

We take every precaution to ensure the safety and well-being of your dog. However, pre-existing conditions (skin conditions, senior fragility, hidden health issues) can sometimes become apparent during grooming. In such cases, Howdy Pawtner is not liable for complications arising from pre-existing conditions that were not disclosed at booking.

Howdy Pawtner carries liability insurance for its mobile grooming operations. If you believe a grooming-related injury has occurred, please contact us immediately so we can address it.

8. Discounts and promotions

  • 30% first visit discount applies to first-time customers on their first completed appointment. One use per household.
  • 20% bundle discount applies when 3 or more services are booked in a single visit. Cannot be combined with the first visit discount. The better discount is applied automatically.
  • $30 gift card loyalty reward is issued after 10 completed and paid appointments by the same customer. Gift cards have no cash value and are not transferable.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Cambridge, Ontario.
